40-Hr Basic Latent
Fingerprint Comparison Workshop
We are pleased to announce that this year’s
conference will include the “Basic Latent Fingerprint Comparison”
workshop. The Latent Print Workshop was originally started at the 36th
FDIAI Training Conference in Tampa and has been a trademark course at
the conference for the last 15 years. To date, more than 300 latent
print students from as far away as England and Guyana.
Topics will include an overview of the
latent print profession, specialized latent print processing techniques,
judicial preparation, training resources and professional development,
evaluation of latent prints, comparison methods and techniques using
advanced methodology, selecting/using search points, verification and
numerous other related areas of interest.
This workshop will be limited to (25)
students. A certificate of training will be issued to students upon
completion of the workshop. It will be necessary for each student to
bring their own magnifier and pointer for the evaluation and comparison
exercise. The workshop is structured for individuals who have completed
a latent print training program and are actively engaged in daily latent
print comparisons.
There is a workshop fee of $50 in addition
to the conference registration to attend this course. Pre-registration
