Latent Print
Examiner
DoD
contracting organization is seeking a qualified applicant to come aboard
as a Latent Print Examiner to perform
specialized technical work in the field of latent print examination and
classification.
Position entails deployment to Iraq in support of theatre operations.
During this time, substantial amounts of additional compensation will be
added to base salary. Please inquire for additional details.
Duties will include:
- Processing, recovering and
preserving latent impressions on a wide variety of materials and
surfaces using physical, chemical, electronic, and optical
techniques
- Performing latent print
detection and comparisons
- Photographing processed latent
prints
- Preserving and evaluating
latent prints that may aid in the prosecution of criminals
- Conducting research in the
development of new techniques and procedures in the field of
forensic identification
- Providing expert witness
testimony in court concerning physical evidence, crime scene
investigations, and latent print examinations
- Examining processed latent
fingerprints and evaluation of their quality for entry into the DoD
Enterprise ABIS; prepare latent fingerprints for entry into the ABIS
through photographic enlargements, tracing, photographic reduction
and computer scanning; improving the quality and integrity of
digitized computer images through enhancement or deletion of
fingerprint details prior to computer searches for matches
- Preparing reports on the types
and quantities of fingerprints processed and results
Must
have the following:
- Able to obtain a Secret
Security Clearance
- Willing to deploy overseas up
to 10 months (3-6 month rotations)
- A
minimum of a Bachelor's degree coupled with 2 years of related
experience; an Associate's degree coupled with 4 years of related
experience; or a high school diploma coupled with 6 years of related
experience
