Criminalist II
The Broward County
Sheriff’s Office, a 6,300 member agency, located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Criminalist II
for the agency’s ASCLD/ISO accredited Crime Laboratory. Position
performs specialized technical and scientific work in the application of
advanced laboratory techniques in DNA analysis. Position is responsible
for the formal reporting of and testifying to the findings of such
analysis.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in natural or physical sciences. A Master's degree is
preferred. Three (3) years experience in DNA analysis. Experience in
DNA fingerprinting and PCR related DNA testing preferred. Applicants
must meet the current FBI Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA
Testing at the time of application (Standard 5.4). Qualified applicants
must have college level credit in genetics, biochemistry, statistics,
organic chemistry and molecular biology (molecular genetics, recombinant
DNA technology). Unofficial College transcripts are required at time of

Salary
Range:
